We are now DSPT certified
We are pleased to share that Generations Care Agency has completed the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and is now officially DSPT certified. It is a mark that our data-handling processes meet the national standards expected of health and social care providers in Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.
What is the DSPT?
The Data Security and Protection Toolkit, often shortened to DSPT, is the NHS's online self-assessment for health and adult social care providers. It checks that an organisation has the right policies, training, devices and processes in place to protect people's information.
It covers everything from secure passwords and encryption to how records are stored, shared and disposed of, making sure personal information stays private and accurate.
What DSPT certification means in plain English
For families, it means the information you share with us — medical details, contact numbers, care plans, finances — is handled with care and protected against loss, misuse or unauthorised access.
It also shows we have trained staff, secure systems and clear plans in place should anything go wrong. In short, we treat your data with the same respect and care that we show our clients in their own homes.
Why it helps us stand out as a care provider
In a crowded care market, DSPT certification is a clear signal that we take confidentiality and digital security seriously. It is increasingly expected by local authorities, NHS partners and CQC inspectors.
By meeting the standard, we can work more closely with other health and care services, share information safely when it helps a client's care, and give families extra confidence that their loved one's details are in safe hands. Combined with our CQC-rated 'Good' service, DBS-checked staff and Cyber Essentials certification, DSPT adds another layer of trust that sets Generations Care Agency apart.
